I-26 Storm
We tried really hard to beat this storm, but were drenched coming over the Tennessee-North Carolina stateline. The bike rose up to 4,000 feet with the metamorphic rocks to meet these massive clouds. We decided to push through and not stop. By Mars Hill at a little over 2,000 feet, we were down in elevation and the road was dry.

Civil War Re-enactments
Lunch
We had another great picnic lunch, with the area all to ourselves. A cathedral of cool trees surrounded us. Here is Steven pulling out of our spot.Encompassing 4,500 acres of greenwood lands and mountain scenery, Breaks Interstate Park is named for the 1,000 foot "break" in Pine Mountain created by the Russell Fork of the Big Sandy River.
